I didn’t think it was necessarily the time to dive into the show’s treatment of LGBTQ+ people, which relies heavily on stereotypes and slurs (See: Shémale)—even Michael’s joke about hairdressers is a bit reductive. I think it’s fair to say that not all of the show’s humor is as precise as we’d like.

Totally get where you’re coming from. I’ll admit I struggle with this to but try to remember that there are probably huge swaths of the audience for whom this is their entry to LOTR, particularly kids, which I think this show is perfect for. 100% agree. GOT is very much a reaction to LOTR and Tolkien’s work. A more accurate comparison of the two shows would be that Mad Men “I don’t think about you at all” meme with GOT in the Ginsberg spot.

McCreary has been, in fact crushing this season. Overcoming Howard Shore’s OG score is something very few could do. I think he’s finding his own way and imbuing this world with a whole different kind of magic. I am consistently impressed by how subtle, moving, and downright catchy his score is.
