Aqua Teen Hunger Force is ready for your Thanksgiving potlucks this year. After the show’s eight-year absence (not counting the shorts or February’s Plantasm movie), Frylock, Meatwad, and Master Shake will return to Adult Swim this November with five new episodes. Yeah, in the words of the show’s press release, this is a “micro-itty-bitty-mini season” of “attention-whittling stupidity.” Still, it’s something to be thankful for. Season 12's premiere will air on November 26, with new episodes streaming on Max the following day.
Aqua Teen Hunger Force, which, for now, is still going by its original name for the first time since 2010, isn’t doing things half-assed. The show’s creators, Matt Maiellaro and Dave Willis are writing, producing, and directing the new episodes. The original voice cast is back, too, with Willis voicing Meatwad and Carl, Dana Snyder as Master Shake, and Carey Means as Frylock.
“The new season picks up where we left off in 2015, as Master Shake, Frylock, and Meatwad have returned to solve all of life’s modern issues, and Carl returns because he can’t sell his crappy house because he lives next door to food,” reads the press release. “Look for your favorite trio of ‘detectives’ to go head-to-head with A.I. appliances, join an apocalyptic fitness cult, and search for friendship through ancient Egyptian pyramid schemes. In the end, all problems shall be solved, and all brains shall be melted. Did Adult Swim mess with a winning formula? You better believe it! Master Shake now has two all-new facial expressions…’Bemused’ and ‘Lips Pursed in Thought’! And Shake can close his hands now, as if to hold things! Also, Frylock is sixty stories high and Meatwad bounces to get around. Tune in to see if we’re telling the truth!”
Two new facial expressions? Shake can close his hands to hold things? We knew Aqua Teen was coming back but we didn’t realize it was coming back better than ever.
