We’ve spent a lot of time singing the praises of physical media recently, mostly because huge streaming services can’t disappear an actual piece of plastic from your collection at the drop of a hat. But there are a lot more benefits to actually owning your favorite shows. One big one: bonus features! Remember cozying up on a Sunday morning to watch some bonus features? The world is a less fun place since those went away.
Despite all the mess currently plaguing Marvel Studios, they’re still an innovative force in at least one field: the fight to bring back the bonus feature. As such, WandaVision’s new Steelbook, which released today, contains a number 0f cast and crew interviews, a blooper reel (!), and two deleted scenes, one of which confirms a long-standing fan theory.
Think back to 2021, when WandaVision actually aired. (Spoilers if you’re cool and have been waiting for the Blu-ray release to actually watch the series.) Evan Peters was initially introduced as his X-Men character Quicksilver, a.k.a. Wanda’s brother Pietro (played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson in the MCU), but it was revealed by the end of the series that he was actually just a regular guy named Ralph Bohner who had been enchanted by Agatha along with the rest of the town. After the series ended, fans theorized that Bohner was actually the missing witness that Randall Park’s Agent Jimmy Woo had followed to Westview in the first place.
This is confirmed in the above clip, which features a shot of Peters’ Bohner running into the frame and snipping off his ankle bracelet with a pair of bolt cutters. Maybe it was Agatha (who appears in her own deleted scene flirting with a cop) who removed this little bit of context all along.
WandaVision is now available on Collector’s Edition 4K Ultra HD Steelbook and Blu-ray Steelbook.
